I don't know why but as soon as I read your post the first thing that jumped into my head was the desk set scene on the roof, swiftly followed by standing on desks in the classroom, but the desk set scene won the race! lol.

It's very much like you suggest in your review there are some comedy moments, but at the same time there's a subtle undertone of thought provoking ideas running almost constantly throughout.
Fantastic movie, easily worth a rewatch! :)
Robin Williams did some amazing work when he was with us! Oddly, Jumanji was on in our living room yesterday, another Williams classic!
