How are you all? 鈽猴笍, I hope you're all doing great and enjoying some great music. That's why I wanted to share a bit of the rehearsal I had yesterday, where we performed the Madrigal by maestro Jos茅 Abreu, founder of the Venezuelan Orchestra System. I hope you like it 鈽猴笍.

This Madrigal is one of the emblematic pieces of the System, it is a composition for choir, we played the same composition for choir but adapted for Recorder Consort; It was a bit difficult to put together since it has different tempos, it begins with Adagio, goes through the Larguetto, the Andante and ends in Adagio, our biggest challenge was to make the changes in time feel good, I think that for most musicians it is difficult to play slowly 馃槄馃槄 we are used to playing fast and in a hurry and these types of calmer pieces take us out of the loop a bit, however it is good to play slowly, not only because it is more complicated but because music is also slowness, calm, nuance 馃幍馃幍
Este Madrigal es una de las piezas emblem谩ticas del Sistema, es una composici贸n para coro, nosotros tocamos la misma composici贸n para coro pero adaptado para Consort de Flauta Dulce; Fue un poco dif铆cil montarlo ya que tiene diferentes tempos, comienza con Adagio, pasa por el Largueto, el Andante y termina en Adagio, nuestro mayor reto fue que se sintiera los cambios de tiempos, creo que para la mayor铆a de los m煤sicos es dif铆cil tocar lento 馃槄馃槄 estamos acostumbrados a tocar r谩pido y apurado y este tipo de piezas mas calmadas nos sacan de onda un poco, sin embargo es bueno tocar lento, no s贸lo porque es mas complicado sino porque la m煤sica tambi茅n es lentitud, calma, matiz 馃幍馃幍

For me, this Madrigal is very emotional and special because it is dedicated to Maestro Sojo, who in life was Maestro Abreu's illustrious teacher. Its lyrics express Maestro Abreu's hope and gratitude toward his teachers, and for that reason, this Madrigal is special to me. I feel this piece connects with the need to preserve our teachers, ancestors of music who have left their mark on Venezuelan music, who at this point are in danger of being forgotten. Maestro Abreu's need for them not to be forgotten feels like a mission, carried out in a world in chaos. That small glimmer of hope gives you the strength to continue with your teaching work. Aside from the fact that I feel that the Madrigal is also a sign of gratitude towards those teachers who left a mark on one as a student, which is why the piece is one of my favorites. I also feel the same as Maestro Abreu, towards my most beloved teachers, and that same need to preserve their legacy over time, despite all the difficulties that occur in this world. Ultimately, teaching in all its areas is that hope for society to adapt and move forward.
Para m铆 este Madrigal es muy emotivo y especial pues est谩 dedicado al Maestro Sojo, quien en vida fue profesor ilustre del maestro Abreu. Entre sus letras muestra la esperanza y el agradecimiento que tiene el maestro Abreu hacia sus profesores y por ese motivo este Madrigal es especial para m铆, siento est谩 pieza con la necesidad de preservar a nuestros profesores, antepasados de la m煤sica que han dejado una huella en la m煤sica venezolana, que a estas alturas est谩n en peligro de ser olvidados, la necesidad del maestro Abreu de que ellos no sean olvidados, aquello que se siente como una misi贸n, llevada a cabo en un mundo que est谩 en caos y ese peque帽o altis de esperanza te da la fuerza para seguir con tu labor docente. A parte que siento que el Madrigal tambi茅n es una muestra de agradecimiento hacia aquellos maestros que dejaron una huella en uno como alumno, por tal causa es que la pieza es una de mis favoritas, tambi茅n siento lo mismo que el Maestro Abreu,hacia mis profesores mas queridos, y esa misma necesidad de preservar su legado en el tiempo, a pesar de todas las lisicitudes que ocurren en este mundo, al fin y al cabo la docencia en rodas sus 谩reas es esa esperanza para que la sociedad se acomde y salga adelante.
