If we see God as our Father, then we are expected to be obedient to His will. When we dis-align from God's will and purposes for our lives it contradicts our confessions of being children of God. When God seeks for people He does not just seek for people mindlessly but people who are willing to do His will. We make the right choice by obeying God's will.
Hebrews 5:9 - And being made perfect, He became the source of eternal salvation, to all who obey Him.
Christ provides a form of shield from the evil of this would unto those who obey Him. When we obey God's will we are certain of fulfilling destiny. Many people left this earth without fulfilling their destinies because they were not in alignment to Gods will. The will of God should be at the center of our hearts just as it was in Jesus' heart while He was still on earth.
John 10.27 - My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me
Whenever we see sheep in the bible Christ is trying to relate it to loyalty. The sheep is always loyal and obedient to their shepherd. God wants us to have the attitude of sheep when in the aspect of obedience. We should not disregard His doctrines and commandments. Those that go far with God are does that adhere to His will.
