Ureka.Social: Now Fully Supports Mobile Devices Via HiveAuth! Plus Many Improvements. Check It Out!

Hey Everyone,

I'm back with some exciting news for the new Hive powered site I am building at ureka.social.

I've been very busy the last few days implementing and testing support for the HiveAuth protocol via the Hive Keychain app for mobile devices.
It's quite a complicated system but I have it operating in a stable way now. You can sign in to Ureka on mobile in the same kind of way that other sites like Ecency and PeakD handle the process.

Logging In to Ureka on Mobile (using HiveAuth)

1. Visit Ureka.Social in your phone web browser (I've only tested in Firefox so far, please let me know if you find problems in other browsers).
2. Click 'Login'.
3. Choose the mobile login mode.
4. Type your username and continue.
5. The system should then launch or bring into focus the Hive Keychain app on your device. (Ensure you have already installed this and configured it for your account in advance.
6. You should then see a dialog asking you to approve that Ureka can log you in using the specified account for a time period of your choosing.
7. Now change windows back to Ureka in your browser and you should see comfirmation of your login.
8. Now use Ureka!

***Note: *The two login modes are oriented towards either Desktop or Mobile devices. The Desktop mode tries to use the standard Hive Keychain browser extension, but this will not work on mobile devices. If you are running Keychain via a Google Playstore Android app or an Apple App, then you should use the mobile mode.

Also Note: The mobile mode supports QR Logins too, so you can use that too via the built in QR code scanner in Hive Keychain if you need/want to for some reason.

I've also adde a bunch of other fixes and improvements since my last post.

We now have improved commenting, a new blog list format on user profiles and a variety of other bits:

• Added: Mode switcher for blog feeds on user profile pages - Switch between 'my blog' and 'global activity'.
• Added: Full handling of blockchain operations via HiveAuth and correct flow on mobile for active key operations.
• Added: Multiple simultaneous tab handling in browsers.
• Added: Support for Youtube 'Shorts' Videos.
• Improved: Account switching - The 'Login As' system.
• Improved: Hive Keychain detection.
• Improved: Commenting and post editing - ui and chain monitoring.
• Improved: Post Creation Interface.
• Fixed: Incorrect HBD interest calculation.
• Fixed: Incorrect community names being rendered sometimes.

As always, please bear in mind that this is a new site and things might break - please let me know in the comments if they do. :)
