Let's suppose you were penniless and starving and the only thing standing in your way of surviving is a loaf of bread.
Your choices are as follows;
A) steal the loaf, eat and survive
B) don't steal the loaf, coil up and die
What would you choose?
Unfortunately, that is the reality that most Nigerians face. So to answer the questions, "why are Nigerians bad?", the simple answer is POVERTY.
The average Nigerian doesn't live, an average Nigerian survives.
To understand a Nigerian is to understand poverty. To understand poverty, you have to imagine life in the shoes of an average Nigerian person.
When you understand a Nigerian, only then can you truly be aware of the dangers they present and truly know how to protect yourself from the bad eggs and enjoy the benefits of connecting with the many good people in the country.
With that said, let's conduct a social experiment, shall we? Indulge me
SCENARIO 1:
Imagine that all you have to live on in a day is $1.
How would you fulfill your daily tasks?( Please leave your answer in the comment section)
SCENARIO 2:
Imagine you wake up in the morning, you flip the light switch and there's no power. You can't charge your phone or laptop unless you go down the street and pay to have it charged. Don't forget that you daily budget is $1. Next you turn on the tap and there's no water so you now have to go and buy water. You are getting ready to go to a job that pays you $50 a month, to make ends meet, you only eat once a day and you are up to your neck in debt.
Then an friend of your walks up to you and tells you he can introduce you to an activity online that can earn you $1000 a month but the only catch is that its an illegal activity.
What would you do, would you steal the loaf of bread?
Imagine having to under such very difficult conditions with no help coming from the government run by corrupt politicians. Nothing like social welfare cheques nor food stamps.
How does on turn down offers that are illicit in nature if it means a big monthly payout?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to promote crime nor justify it. The truth is that this is the reality for most Nigerians. Victims of a bizarre society.
In truth, if you take away the poverty, you will find that Nigerians are very good people.
This is the reason why I believe in steemit because whether steemit knows it or not, it is helping many people dig themselves out of poverty without resorting to crime. Steemit is adding a lot of value to the lives of people around the world that find themselves in poverty.
That is why I will do everything in my power to help build up and grow the steemit community because the bigger steemit gets the more people it can help.
