Someone asked why I bought 250 common draws—what was the point of spending so much Glint? Well, just take a look at my deck, and you’ll see what came of that shopping spree. In the "Modern Silver 3" bracket where I play, there are level caps for cards: Common 5, Rare 4, Epic 3, and Legendary 2. This means I can use cards up to these levels, but mine were previously below these caps. After this purchase of 250 draws, many of them have been upgraded by another level. I don’t plan on taking them to their absolute maximum levels, but they should at least be upgraded to the limits of my current bracket—since that’s the level I’m allowed to use. Ultimately, this will improve my in-game performance, which in turn will lead to better rewards and make the game even more enjoyable for me. I might need to make a few more large purchases like this—perhaps another 2 to 4 times—but hopefully, by then, all my favorite cards will be upgraded to the limits of the Modern Silver 3 bracket.
Today, I upgraded a total of 4 common cards to level 5—two belonging to the Fire element and two to the Life element. The first two are 'Cullborn Revenant' and 'Magmaforged'. Upon reaching level 5, the magic card 'Cullborn Revenant' gained +1 Armor and +1 Health. This upgrade was much needed, as I previously avoided using this card; its health level often made it a prime target for enemies with the 'Opportunity' ability, rendering it relatively weak. At level 5, however, the card has become significantly more usable and will likely perform much better. Additionally, the ranged attack card 'Magmaforged' received an increase of +1 Health and +1 Ranged Attack power. Since it is a low-mana card, this boost to its attack power makes it a much more attractive option, and the improved health is, of course, essential for its overall strength. I plan to use this card specifically in low-mana battles and will share how it performs on the battlefield.
The next two cards to reach level 5 are Palimpsest Prophet and Phlegmor. Both are low-mana melee attackers, and each receives a +1 boost to its melee attack at level 5. It is a bit curious that while level 5 upgrades brought improvements to two stats for the Fire element cards, it only affected one stat for these Life element cards—even though all four belong to the common rarity. Regardless, I am happy with this upgrade; I actually use Palimpsest Prophet in my battles, and the +1 melee boost makes it an even more compelling choice to summon—especially in low-mana battles. Unlike many other cards, it is well-rounded: it now boasts 2 melee attack, 2 armor, 3 health, and 3 speed. Furthermore, it possesses the 'Flying' and 'Charge' abilities, which allow it to perform effectively from any position in the lineup, despite being a melee card. It also has the potential to evade up to 25% of incoming melee attacks. While its health is somewhat low, it is an excellent card for specific situations, and I hope it will deliver outstanding performance.
Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!🔥
