After quite a long time, I decided to shop for Gladius cases today. It wasn't necessarily my plan to buy a large batch of them all at once; the truth is, I had plenty of other things to write about in the interimβsuch as my recent first-time experience playing in 'Wild' mode and the super exciting aspects of it. Before that, I had been buying 'Rarity Draws' back-to-back and leveling up several cards in my deck, with some even reaching Level 4. Amidst all that, I simply didn't find the time to look at the Gladiator set. However, while playing in Wild mode yesterday, it struck me: since all card sets from Splinterlands' history are enabled there, why not level up Gladiator cards using Gladius packs and use them in these Wild battles? So, I finally visited the Guild Shop today and discovered I had accumulated over 13,000 Merits. At a rate of 2,000 Merits per case, I purchased a total of six Gladius cases and opened them all at once.
I pulled some awesome cardsβmostly melee attack cardsβand many of them are already part of my deck. I got a total of seven copies of rare cards, one epic card copy, and an excellent Level 3 gold card copy. While I already have several of these upgraded to Level 2, the 'Alva the Crusher' card (from the Human Bloodline) is already at Level 3; hopefully, it will become the first card I upgrade to Level 4. Although I already own a Gold Foil version of this same card at Level 4, this will be the first regular foil card to reach that level. Additionally, both Liza Fox and Captain Katie are upgraded to Level 2 and are on their way to Level 3. There are many cards progressing toward higher levels, including some that were previously stuck at their base level and are now ready for their first upgrade. The main thing is that most of these cards are very useful to me whenever Gladiator cards are enabled; otherwise, I usually build my team around the Archon with the Conscript modifier.
A Gladius case contains five random Gladiator cards. I purchased a total of six Gladius cases, so I should have received 30 cards in total; however, only 16 were displayed. This made me feel like something had gone wrong with the system and that I hadn't received my full or correct reward. Curious to understand the situation, I consulted my guild CEO, @nozem01 . He explained that when you open multiple cases at once and receive multiple copies of certain cards, the system doesn't display each copy individually; instead, it shows a single card with the total number of copies indicated on it. For instance, take the 'Alva the Crusher' card: a red ribbon in the top right corner displays the number '4', indicating that I received four copies of that card. Similarly, the 'Liza Fox' card shows a '2' in a red ribbon in the top right corner, signifying that I received two copies of it. It is a simple matter, but without knowing this, it can seem like something has gone wrongβwhich is why they say asking questions is a sign of intelligence. It is better to set aside one's ego and ask someone than to remain ignorant and feel bad. :) I thank
@nozem01 once again for always guiding me. π
