Splinterlands: Pit challenge accepted against the hardest fighter Eagle Libre!🔥
To be honest, I initially chose 'The Big Lebowski' again, but before confirming, I decided to go for the toughest option—'Eagle Libre'—instead. At the time, I had no idea just how strong this fighter would be or what kind of abilities he might possess. I could have easily earned 25 Sparks by defeating 'The Mountain' on the 'Easy' setting—and since I’d already beaten 'The Big Lebowski' before, I felt fairly confident about that choice too, which would have netted me 500 Sparks. But I set my sights on the 1,000-Spark reward, which required battling the formidable 'Eagle Libre'—all without knowing just how powerful he truly was. You could say I was overconfident, but then again, a game isn't really fun unless it’s challenging, right?
After confirming my selection, I realized that this 'Eagle Libre' fighter truly deserves to be called 'hard' (tough). I’ll start by discussing its abilities rather than its stats, as that’s where you get the real insight. Equipped with three abilities, this fighter was protected against magic attacks from every angle—meaning even my magic-based attackers couldn't bypass its armor. Furthermore, there was an equal chance for magic attacks to miss entirely. It became clear that I couldn't simply include cards in my team just because they relied on magic attack power. On top of that, this fighter boasted 7 melee attack power, 9 armor, 2 speed points, and a mind-boggling 92 health points.
When selecting my team, I initially disregarded the suggestion to prioritize magic attacks. Instead, I focused on including cards that combined high attack power with a speed stat of at least 2, as I wanted to ensure my attacks landed before the opponent's. I chose an Archon from the Dragon element and built my team around the Death element; this gave me the flexibility to summon cards from the Death, Gray, and Dragon elements. As you can see in my lineup, I’ve included the very best cards from each of these three elements. I did make one mistake, however: I overlooked the fact that the opponent possessed an ability that rendered them immune to 'Thorns.' Because of this, I placed a card with the 'Thorns' ability in the tank position—had I remembered the opponent's protection against 'Thorns,' I could have opted for a more effective, attack-oriented card instead. But anyway...
Among the superheroes on my team was a card with the 'Double Strike' ability, which dealt significant damage to the enemy. Additionally, a Dragon-element magic attack card—positioned at the back—was included solely for its 'Demoralize' ability, which reduced the enemy's melee attack power by 1. Although it was a magic attack card and missed its target twice across two battles, the 'Demoralize' ability still proved useful. Furthermore, I had a Death-element card equipped with the 'Poison' ability; its attacks carried a 50% chance of afflicting the enemy with poison. Fortunately, this triggered, causing the enemy to take 2 points of health damage every round due to the poison effect.
This was by no means an easy battle; it took a total of 7 rounds to conclude. This means the opponent attacked my team 7 times, each time with a melee attack power of 6 (calculated as 7 minus 1). Had my team not been strong, securing a victory against an opponent like this would have been quite difficult—but thanks to the cards available in my deck for this specific battle, I managed to pull it off. In reality, I don’t actually own all those cards; however, in the 'Pit Challenge,' you get to choose from max-level cards. This significantly enhances the fun and serves as great motivation—it makes me realize just how awesome the gameplay could be if I were to build up my own deck. Even though I don’t currently possess these cards, it makes me wonder: what if I had them for my regular battles? The experience of playing Splinterlands would reach an entirely new level! Well, I am working on building my deck, but for now, winning this battle has earned me a reward of 1,000 Spark, bringing my total Spark balance to 42,000. Now, I’m just waiting for a new set of cards to arrive in the Spark Shop.
Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!🔥
