In my season-end report post, I had mentioned that I was just short of the Glint needed for two Legendary Draws, so I planned to earn the remainder and buy both at once. However, I changed my mind; since I had spent all my earnings from the previous season on three Legendary Draws, I wanted to purchase draws of other rarities this time as well. So, I decided to buy just one Legendary Draw today, which cost 70,000 Glint, plus an extra 1,980 Glint for the 20 Alchemy Potions required to open it. In total, I spent approximately 72,000 Glint on that single Legendary Draw. Frankly, I didn't expect to get a Gold card; I’ve never pulled a Gold card from the Arcana set—I don't know the trick to it, but despite using thousands of Alchemy Potions, I’ve never received a single Gold card, so I’ve stopped hoping for one. I just wanted to pull a very powerful card or one that would allow me to level up a card already in my deck.
And thankfully, I managed to get a Water-element Dwarf ranged attack card called Sten Slatehelm. It has a very low mana cost, meaning you can freely use it in battles ranging from extremely low to high mana limits. The reason it’s so versatile is that, despite being a ranged attack card, it possesses the "Close Range" ability right from Level 1; this allows it to perform effectively even when positioned on the front line. Even at Level 1, it boasts 1 ranged attack power, 3 armor, 4 health points, and a speed of 3—stats that make it an excellent card considering its low mana cost. The best part was that I already had two copies of this card in my deck; acquiring this new copy meant it was ready to be upgraded to Level 2. Since it would become the first card in my deck to reach Level 2, I didn't hesitate and upgraded it immediately.
Now for the icing on the cake. I have never seen more than two changes in the initial upgrade of any card—though perhaps that is because I had never leveled up a Legendary card before. Moving from Level 1 to Level 2 brings three excellent changes to this card; it is as if the designers decided to address every shortcoming in one go. The first and most crucial aspect is offense: the ranged attack power increased from 1 at Level 1 to 2 at Level 2. Next is another vital stat—Health Points—which helps the card withstand enemy attacks for longer; here, the card received a +1 health boost at Level 2. Finally, there is a unique ability called "Reckless." Initially, I viewed it as a purely negative trait, but after exploring its best synergy—with "Painforge"—I realized how it could be used strategically to one's advantage. So, this is the first Legendary card in my deck that I have upgraded to Level 2. For now, these cards are "soulbound," but once most of my cards reach their maximum level, I will gradually start unbinding them, making them fully tradable.
