Splinterlands: Finally unlocked Tier 1 of the Gold League today, after months!🔥
I try every season, but it is a fact that I have never managed to rise above the Gold League—though reaching even that level is a feat in itself. For the past many—perhaps dozens of seasons, I hadn't even been able to reach Gold League Tier 1, so this is truly amazing. I don't clearly recall the last time I reached Gold League Tier 1, but I know it has been months; since then, I had been stuck in Gold 2 or Gold 3 for dozens of seasons. I have long wanted to break out of Gold and start playing in the Diamond League, but the Gold League remains a major hurdle for me. Anyway, after dozens of seasons, I finally unlocked Gold League Tier 1 late last night, following this, hopes of playing in the Diamond tier have risen once again, as there are still more than five days left before the season ends. For now as part of the welcome loot of unlocking Gold tier 1, I received 9 Minor and 6 Major chests. 🔥
Although the expectation of better rewards as the tiers increased was somewhat dashed—since the rewards were undoubtedly not very attractive—I am still happy with it, given that these are welcome gifts upon unlocking the tier. From the nine minor chests, I received one Alchemy Potion Charge, 143 Merits, one entry, two Energy, and three card copies; however, two of these copies are of the same card—one I frankly don't care for. Even with a mana cost of 5, it is less powerful than the 1-2 mana cost cards in my deck. It’s not just about raw power, though; in most battles, it would likely get knocked out before even landing a single attack because its speed is a mere 1, and its health makes it an easy target for the enemy to destroy. In contrast, I really like the other card I got in this loot and use it in multiple battles daily, especially because of its 'Flank' ability. Also, since I have it upgraded to Level 2—where its speed gets a +1 boost—it becomes even more special. Thanks to its 'Flank' ability, I often place this card on the front line and use the 'Doomshield Warden' as a second line of defense; this allows my main heavy attacker to launch attacks while remaining somewhat protected.
I’m a bit disappointed with the rewards from the 7 Major Chests—and that’s simply because they are labeled "Major" (implying they should be superior to "Minor" ones). Logically, the rewards ought to be better, if only to live up to the name and category of the chest. But no, looking at the rewards, there doesn't seem to be any real difference between the two types—aside from getting three copies of a single card in one chest versus six Alchemy Potions in another. That said, the Energy component does hold significance; you really feel its value when it drains, as you have to wait a full hour for just one unit of Energy. It doesn't matter as much to me personally since I don't play obsessively, though I acknowledge its value might differ for other players. Anyway, those were my Gold Tier 1 welcome rewards; now, over the next five days, I’m going to do my absolute best to break out of the Gold League and finish the season in the Diamond League for the first time.
Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!🔥
