Hi There!

First of all, I would like to thank the community for the warm welcome and many helpful recommendations. It's nice to have such warm attention.

Today I will share with you my way of overcoming the energy disruptions that have become commonplace for our country.πŸ”‹

In our region, the situation with shutdown schedules is still quite tolerable. There are areas where there is no power supply for several days.
Our turnaround schedule looks like this:

All addresses of the region are divided into three queues, which are switched off in turn from the power supply πŸ’‘

The pipe, through which gas is supplied to our settlement, ended at our neighbors (at one time the former owners of the house considered gas to be unnecessary) and further down the street the houses stand without gas supply.
Therefore, in our newly acquired private house, we are very dependent on electricity.
Cooking: On an Induction Cooker
Water is heated by an electric boiler and kettle.
An Internet thing you can live without, but lighting is necessary if you have a small child and a short daylight hours!

Worst of all, the lack of electricity affects heating. The house is large, and in order to heat such an area, a heat exchanger is installed in the wood-burning stove, in which the coolant circulating through the heating pipes is heated. Since the heating system was built with errors, the coolant does not circulate without the help of a pump and with a power outage - the water in the system boils, which, in general, does not have a very good effect on the durability of this. I had to put out the stove, which was also associated with certain problems of water condensation in the chimney, but our post today is not about that.

On the sides are tanks - heat exchangers filled with water πŸ”₯

This is a pump that drives the coolant in the heating system and which we need to make work πŸŒ€

As a responsible and economic head of the family, I could not allow the situation with the cooling of the housing where my family lives, so I had to look for a solution.

The solution came up pretty quickly. In the rubbish of the garage, I found an old uninterruptible power supply for a computer in which the battery had long since failed. Once I had several of them, but as unnecessary, I gave them to friends who were interested in electrical engineering. Good thing there is at least one left.

This UPS, at its best times, could only power a computer for a few minutes, so for my idea I had to pull a larger battery out of the car. πŸ”€

Having disassembled the device, I threw away the old bad battery, and brought out the battery connectors, lengthened them for the convenience of the battery location. Stationery binders came up instead of terminals)
I also increased the power output and connected a standard outlet for connecting electrical appliances.
I assembled the power cord from pieces. A piece with a plug for an outlet and a piece with a connector that fits the appliance.

The whole system fits perfectly under the sofa.

Now I have autonomy for heating for about an hour with a little. Beloved breathed a sigh of relief and gained more confidence in the future.
And yet, as fate would have it, our neighbor offered to buy his used car battery, since he bought himself a new one. Another +1 hour ;)

This is all great in conditions where electricity appears periodically, and it is possible to recharge your batteries, but if a total blackout occurs, then such a system will only last a couple of hours. But so far she has saved us a lot.

Of course, I'm preparing for a complete blackout, but more on that in the next posts...πŸ˜‰

In general, hours without electricity are very family hours, when we all get together as a family, read, play or listen to songs with a guitar. We always have something to do with the whole family, and the baby even loves when everyone gathers at the lantern... πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§

Thank you for your attention! We will be glad to see you again on the pages of our blog.
