The absence of the ability to formulate reasoned judgments breeds the perfect environment for having a judgmental attitude. Those who have refined their ability to process multiple streams of logic, remain objective, spot their own biases and alter them, efficiently process their emotional upsets, are conscious of their shadow, and are able to sympathetically enter into the viewpoints of others, are able to effectively exercise their discernment. Conversely, those who are unable to effectively formulate reasoned judgments and exercise discernment will be prone to compensating with shadow projection, arrogance, reactivity, confirmation bias, criticalness, and judgmentalness. In short, discerning people are conscious, self-aware, and reasonable, while judgmental people are unconscious, egocentric, and irrational.
