I'm fortunate to live in the country, there isn't much light polution around so the aurora are often easy to see even without staying up too late. Set these up with some bulb exposures on a tripod, and you can easily catch the colors skies, the dancing lights and the greens and blues in the distant sky.
There have been much brighter ones lately, but I only took time to capture a few pictures.
