A follow up on the Solarwinds trojan
I'm not sure that the people hiring technologists have the ability to discern who knows what they are doing. They will buy more false security from professional liars.
The breach didn't involve windows XP. I was joking about that in my earlier post ( @underscoreparty/what-if-the-attack-on ) because it was a well known situation in the not too distant past. The problem should have been trivially easy to detect however. It appears that no one is monitoring the networks or thinking about the implications of a multi system management application communicating with outside servers.

Perhaps we should put a team together to help fix this mess. Convince me you know what you're talking about in the comments.
