As cartas Gladius costumam ser o protagonista dos times em Brawls por causa da capacidade delas de aumentarem sua força com Bloodlust e serem capazes de eliminar qualquer inimigo após alguns abates. Mas não é apenas você que pode utilizar uma carta Gladius, seu oponente também terá essa possibilidade e por causa disso ao montar uma composição na Brawl você deve sempre considerar as principais possibilidades que o oponente poderá escolher e como evitar que sua carta consiga muitos abates.

Na postagem de hoje sobre Splinterlands nós abordaremos um confronto de cartas Gladius (duas Captain Katie) e o que precisa ser feito para tentar mitigar as chances da carta do oponente se sobressair diante da sua.

Prever qual Gladius o oponente utilizará é uma tarefa difícil principalmente considerando o pouco tempo que você tem para montar sua estratégia, portanto é muito importante que você conheça as principais cartas de cada um dos splinters para acelerar esse processo.

Tendo essa noção você poderá traçar algumas linhas de raciocínio e decidir por qual delas você seguirá para montar sua estratégia. Ignorar totalmente essa possibilidade abrirá espaço para que a Gladius do oponente saia do controle e vença a partida sozinha, portanto eu não recomendo ignorá-la por completo. Vamos observar esta partida como exemplo:

Apenas três splinters estavam disponíveis e isso favorece bastante sua análise de previsão pois há menos possibilidades para o oponente. Dentro dos três Splinters há muitas cartas Gladius mas algumas se destacam na minha mente:

(sim, até hoje eu não tenho a Quora Towershead)

Dentre estas cartas as primeiras que me vem à mente são a dupla Gobson, a Quora Towershead, o Ajax Lightfoot, a Captain Katie, a Marisol Contuma e as lendárias.

Estas são as que possuem maior potencial de vencer um jogo sozinhas caso ativem seu Bloodlust e são elas que devem ser levadas em consideração ao montar seu time. A partida possui a regra Briar Patch que diminui a eficiência da Marisol Contuma e dos Gobson então eles não eram minha principal preocupação.

Todas as lendárias e a Captain Katie e Quora Towershead iriam sofrer caso eu utilizasse cartas com Magic Reflect na primeira posição (e na segunda posição no caso da Katie). Apenas o Ajax Lightfoot poderia ser um problema grande caso eliminasse muitas unidades, então optei por proteger toda a equipe com muita armadura para evitar isso.

Tendo feito todas essas considerações a melhor escolha foi o Grandmaster Rathe para amplificar o Magic Reflect e o Thorns e as cartas foram posicionadas e protegidas ao máximo para fazer com que o próprio adversário se ferisse com seus ataques refletidos.

Como as minhas maiores preocupações eram com cartas de Dano Mágico eu escolhi o Lord Arianthus para garantir que se o oponente optasse por uma das lendárias elas seriam facilmente eliminadas, sendo ainda útil para resistir aos ataques de Dano físico (porém o oponente não optou por nenhuma carta desse dano).

Pensando especificamente na Captain Katie que por possuir a habilidade Snipe poderia facilmente alavancar sua força eliminando cartas de suporte, eu decidi colocar o Pelacor Conjurer na segunda posição para tankar seus ataques e refletí-los. A escolha foi perfeita impediu qualquer potencial de crescimento da Katie inimiga.

Com essa proteção devidamente projetada o maior problema que o oponente poderia me dar já estava controlado, restando apenas esperar para que a minha Captain Katie fizesse a sua parte para me trazer a vitória.

Já na primeira rodada ela conseguiu eliminar seu primeiro alvo e ativar o Bloodlust , aplificando todas as suas estatísticas enquanto a Katie inimiga estava ferida e sem buffs.

A terceira rodada foi aquela que definiu a vitória. A maioria das cartas do time inimigo já haviam sido eliminadas pelo Magic Reflect . A minha Captain Katie conseguiu mais um abate eliminando a Venari Crystalsmith e recebeu mais uma amplificação em seus poderes. Já a Katie do oponente novamente atacou o Pelacor Conjurer e recebeu pela terceira vez o dano refletido amplificado que ocasionou em sua morte.

Observem que antecipar as possiveis escolhas do oponente e se proteger contra elas garantiu uma vitória fácil. Tudo poderia ser muito diferente caso eu ignorasse a possibilidade da Katie e escolhesse outra carta no lugar do Pelacor Conjurer.

Devemos sempre traçar nossas estratégias levando em consideração as possibilidades do oponente e isso se faz ainda mais necessário quando estamos jogando em Brawls pois além de você estar representando a sua guild (e seus companheiros), também existem mais recompensas do que em uma partida ranqueada qualquer.

Além disso a existência das Gladius é algo que deve ser sempre levado em consideração pois estas geralmente são as cartas mais impactantes em um jogo e você deve estar preparado para enfrentá-las ou será esmagado por sua força!

Predicting which Gladius the opponent will use is a difficult task, especially considering the little time you have to build your strategy, so it's very important that you know the main cards of each of the splinters to speed up this process.

Totally ignoring this possibility will open up space for the opponent's Gladius to get out of control and win the match by itself, so I don't recommend ignoring it entirely. Let's look at this match as an example:

Only three splinters were available and this greatly favors your prediction analysis as there are less possibilities for the opponent. Within the three Splinters are many Gladius cards but a few stand out in my mind:

Among these cards, the first ones that come to mind are Gobson brothers, Quora Towershead, Ajax Lightfoot, Captain Katie, Marisol Contuma and the legendary cards.

These are the ones that have the greatest potential to win a game alone if they activate their Bloodlust and they are the ones that should be taken into account when building your team. The game has the Briar Patch rule that lowers the efficiency of Marisol Contuma and Gobson brothers so they weren't my main concern.

All Legendaries and Captain Katie and Quora Towershead would suffer if I used cards with Magic Reflect in the first position (and in the second position in Katie's case). Only Ajax Lightfoot could be a big problem if it took out a lot of units, so I opted to protect the whole team with a lot of armor to avoid that.

Having made all these considerations the best choice was Grandmaster Rathe to amplify Magic Reflect and Thorns and the cards were positioned and protected as much as possible to make the opponent get hurt with their reflected attacks.

As my biggest concerns were with Magic Damage I chose Lord Arianthus cards to ensure that if the opponent opted for one of the legendary ones they would be easily eliminated, being still useful to resist attacks of Physical damage (however the opponent did not choose any card of this damage).

Thinking specifically of Captain Katie who, because she has the Snipe ability could easily leverage her strength by eliminating support cards, I decided place the Pelacor Conjurer in the second position to tank his attacks and reflect them. The perfect choice precluded any potential growth for enemy Katie.

With this protection properly designed, the biggest problem the opponent could give me was already under control, leaving only waiting for my Captain Katie to do her part to bring me victory.

Already in the first round she managed to eliminate her first target and activate Bloodlust , applying all her stats while the enemy Katie was injured and without buffs.

The third round was the one that defined the victory. Most of the enemy team's cards had already been eliminated by Magic Reflect . My Captain Katie got another kill by eliminating Venari Crystalsmith and received another power boost from her. The opponent's Katie again attacked the Pelacor Conjurer and received the amplified reflected damage that caused her death.

Note that anticipating the opponent's possible choices and protecting against them ensured an easy victory. Everything could be very different if I ignored Katie's possibility and chose another card instead of Pelacor Conjurer.

We must always design our strategies taking into account the possibilities of the opponent and this becomes even more necessary when we are playing in Brawls because in addition to representing your guild (and your friends), there are also more rewards than than in any ranked game.

Furthermore, the existence of Gladius is something that should always be taken into account as these are usually the most impactful cards in a game and you must be prepared to face them or you will be crushed by their strength!
