We are about to experience an influx that is rarely seen, our beloved Steemit.com is going to be SWARMED with new users, and among them will be a significant number of trolls, scammers and grifters, along with the usual crop of NEWBS. So, in most cases, a simple gentle reminder will be sufficient. Beyond that, once we get to the "repeat offenders" I suggest something like the shitpost_GIF file I uploaded. A 'steeming pile' plus it already has the first fly to arrive!
I think this would be a good way of 'flagging' bad posting, before we actually start 'down-voting' the offenders. We all have our own lists of what constitutes a 'bad post', here are a few common ones:
Bad replies/comments are going to be even more common, and a flag may be more appropriate, to hide the bad or spammy comments. Just had this happen in a #steemsilvergold post by our community bot. Instead of flagging, I asked the commentor to delete or modify them, but another user flagged it to hide. Then another came and upvoted it because he liked the explanation of the "spammy author" LOL!!! Go Figure! :D
