Gold about to enter strong resistance zone (again!)
Here we go again, gold is entering strong resistance at around 1360. The last few times it has failed to decisively break through and take the metal back on to new near term highs. I've said previously that should 1360 break then we should easily get to 1400 and quickly move beyond that once the 1400 psychological barrier is broken.
So here we are again on the cusp. Will it break this time or will we see a correction in the coming days. With the Yuan-oil contract hitting the market today it looks like the precious metals have the wind in their sails. Personally with everything else that's going on in the world I think this time we break 1360, possibly this week, or even today if we get another correction. It's been a frustrating few months for anyone in the mining shares but I think if we break 1360 and stay above it for a few days we will see the mining shares wake up and then we're off to the races. Silver is also looking very nice and seems to be creating a higher low which, if we are to see a higher high in the next move up we might reach $18 plus. This might well be telegraphing that gold is going to break 1360 this time around so keep a close eye on the metals this week.
Yesterday my article 'Black Monday tomorrow?' didn't quite play out as I expected, but the small bounce we saw in the markets was weak and is now correcting back down again. The S&P is has so far gained a little ground but so far I'm not convinced this bounce is strong enough to negate the big move down that I'm still expecting. Again, watch closely this week. All of the charts appear to be revealing the next big moves ahead, it's just a matter of watching to see which way they will go.
