I honestly have to admit that I haven't seen nearly as much football during the Olympics as I wished for and hoped for before the start of the Olympics. I have been traveling quite a lot and it isn't easy combining football matches in the middle of the night while traveling on a holiday with your family. As a result, I have mostly just paid attention to the results and seen some highlights now and then.
Before the start of the tournament, I considered Spain to be the big favorite. The reason was simple... they had a team packed with stars, whereof 4-5 also took part in the European Championship in football some weeks earlier.
Brazil was a second favorite, and to be honest, their biggest star Richarlison, is probably the biggest star of the tournament so far. So, even though Spain has way more stars like Oyarzabal, Merino, Pedri, Uman, and Dani Olmo... Richarlison from Brazil still remains the biggest profile of the tournament.
It is final time!
Today it is time for the final in the football competition during the Summer Olympics. Yesterday, we saw Canada beat Sweden after penalties. I honestly thought Sweden would win the match, after all, they were the best team on the field, and they had quite a big advantage also during the penalty shootout. But, they didn't live with the opportunity, and Canada won in the end.
I have a feeling that the Spain vs Brazil match might end with penalties as well, but I do hope that it will be packed with chances, shots, contras, and other great stuff before the eventual penalties.
