A strong bond between parents and children gives the children a sense of belonging, fosters trust and makes the child feel secure. So you need to spend more quality time with your children, you need to be an active listener, validate their feelings and thoughts .
Your children need your physical touch, like hugs, kisses, and cuddles. Physical touch promotes bonding and makes them really comfortable with you, you need to create memories, quality memories that would light them up whenever they think of it.
Praise and encourage your children so they'll have a positive image of themselves, so bonding can improve your child's academic performance, improve their mental health and make it easier to create healthy relationships in the future.
Unlike other children I never had the opportunity to call my biological mother mummy while growing up, I know it sounds awkward but it's the truth. We called her (sister )and she was ok with it and that was what we called her up until now.
I never really bonded with my ma while growing up , I don't know but maybe it was because she had plenty of us, but we didn't have any physical touch or even core conversations, and to say the truth those aspects in a relationship are vital.
So after giving birth to my children , I didn't want all that abstractness for them , when my first child arrived I just knew I'd given birth to my best friend. I prioritized bonding so I could create a lifelong loving relationship between us.
We have conversations, and we study together, I listen actively,we hug and cuddle because those were what I wish I had back then. Giving birth to these children gave me the opportunity to show concrete love and affection to them.
I don't hesitate to tell them how much I love them every single time ,I don't hesitate to give them the best of everything, I work so hard having their wellbeing in mind because they're precious.
I can never make them feel less important, they're my besties, so with such mindset bonding is a priority for me , I need to make them comfortable with being around me , so they can think straight and excel in all their endeavours.
