How Big Is An Octopus?
The biggest of the octopus species is the enteroctopus dofleini (above), commonly known as the giant Pacific octopus. The biggest giant Pacific octopus ever found was over 9 meters in length and weighed over 270kg! The average size and weight is about 5 meters and 50kg.
Octopus wolfi (below) is the smallest of the species of octopus and is under 2.5cm in length and weighs under 1g.
Female octopuses are usually smaller than the males of their species but the female blanket octopus is up to 40,000 times bigger than her male counterpart!!

So the size of an octopus depends on its sex and its species.
