Yeah I also was mostly in tourist places in Mexcio. I could tell if you lived there no doubt it would be different. Even during our two weeks we started to learn about the collectivo and how much we should rly be paying for a taxi per mile and working it out. After a bit and we got a bit of a tan they kind of naturally became more fair so I think maybe we didn’t look as ‘fresh’ lol it was rly annoying tho to feel yoh had to literally learn how not to get ripped off on everything. I can’t even count the things people tried on even some of the hotels tried it on.

The airport taxis are the absolute worst they told my bf the buses had stopped running, when they hadn’t and he has to get this stupid 60 dollar taxi and all Clubbed together so he couldn’t leave the airport for cheaper. Things like that do put me off going back although never say never. I think owning a car or scooter is very helpful, we didn’t even dare hire one tho 🤣
