DISCLAIMER: THESE ARE NOT MY PARENTS
My parents are African...specifically, my parents are Nigerian. I love them and they did (I think) an amazing job raising me.
They also happen to be phenomenal grandparents...they have 5 grandchildren and 2 of them are my own kids.
I have 3 siblings and till today they blame me for introducing my parents to the iPad and the iPhone.
That might not seem like a big deal to you but those purchases landed both of them on Facebook and Whatsapp and just about every time my dad posts anything on Facebook, there's a general cring between all the siblings.
His specialty is posting things that are "evil" which typically includes graphic videos of terrible things happening around the world.
Rather than telling him to quit it (you don't tell your parents off in Nigeria if you want it to be "well" with you), there is a conceited effort ongoing to gain access to his account and well...do daily disaster control.
My parents being on Facebook chased my sister away from Facebook completely. It also forced me to turn to Instagram as my social media outlet of choice.
They are good people though. I suppose maybe a course on Facebook Etiquette would be necessary. But until that happens, perhaps Steemit is the way for my outlet.
Anyway, this is more of me trying to introduce myself.
