What are everyone's thoughts on the steam deck? I'm definitely going to pick one up when I can afford one since portable gaming has always been an interest of mine.
My thoughts: I like seeing valve entering the portable gaming space. I think there is a wide market for a new handheld and this lays down some impressive specs for the price tag. Considering it runs an arch Linux distro out of the box(and allows alternative OS installations), there will be a lot you can do on it aside from purely gaming. Full support for I/O devices. Excited to see some early reviews of it and issues it encounters along the way, if any. The current theory is steam is set to release a video game streaming service(think Nvidia GeForce NOW or google stadia). Steam has a huge library, so a service like this would be great, especially when valve has a handheld device with specific specs to work with.
