What does a leader has that a manager doesn't and what does a manager do differently from a leader?
There is this also that: Leadership is a quality, while Managementis a Science.
Take a careful look at these differences:-
Managers administrate : Leaders innovate
" delegate : " inspire
" implement : " direct
" relate to function : " deals with concepts, etc.
From the foregoing differences, it shows clearly that leadership is but not limited to the following:
- Influence. 2) The process of guiding, directing and commanding others to achieve a desired goal or vision. 3) The ability to attract others. 4) Doing the right things even when it's not popular. 5) The ability to see tomorrow etc.
Managers should be seen as the engine of the business, they keep the business moving whilst increasing the profitability. They are concerned with controls.
Leaders exude charisma and gravitations. They see the big picture and exercise faith. They find a way of encouraging people to follow them by intrinsically changing their vision. They let people believe they can make a difference and following them will be the best decision they ever made.
Some of the World renown leaders in that category are: Winston Churchill, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela etc.
The world is is gasping for TRUE LEADERS, no wander things keep falling apart, everywhere politically, economically, socially etc. There are many managers though.
CONLUSION
/ Our creator, please give us leaders indeed /
I believe in leadership, true leadership, because it is proven over time that everything rises and falls on leadership. So, without good leaders things will keep falling apart and the hapless masses will pay dearly for it. May it only be imagined.
