When your ears feed on the tales of my departure,
To a world where only dead creatures can really live,
Please weep with one eye, leave the other dry,
And let the other eye see a cause - for a smile.
When these my footprints fade off the dusty land,
And the sound of my heartbeat goes totally numb,
Take out a rose flower and throw it on my grave,
Say me a short prayer; pray that I walk straight home.

When the market square becomes encircled by silence,
For the news of my death that they all have bought,
Please weep with one eye, leave the other dry,
And let the other eye see a cause - for a smile.
Soon, I'll join my fathers and then my grandfathers,
In the land where no one should shed a tear,
When I am transferred to this lifeless dome,
Say me a short prayer, pray that I walk straight home.
