The War of the Two Roses was an English civil war during the years 1465-1485 that pitted the members of the House of Lancaster against the House of York, because both claimed to be the British throne because both were descendants of the Previous Royal House; This confrontation has its name because these roses were the emblems of both Dynastic Houses.
Although in the past there were previous clashes between the claimants of the British throne, this began in 1455 and ended in 1485. At first the victories and battles won by the York side, made it had the power of England for 20 years.
In 1483 with the death of Edward IV of the House of York, a period of disorder began until the Lancaster house put its expectations in Enrique Tudor who took power in 1485 and married Isabel de York daughter of Edward IV, thus ending the conflict for the throne and imposing the new Tudor Dynasty.
