What a day , I must say . I honestly did have a swell day today . Today happened to be a friend's wedding and it indeed came out successful. I really do not know why I found the ceremony interesting. I guess its because it's been a while I attended a wedding ceremony in a pretty long while . From the attires ,to the beautiful and handsome faces as well as the different dishes and delicacies were second to none .
I got up this morning really energetic ready for the day's activities. Saturdays for me is always football day . I enjoy playing football with the boys every Saturday. It is the way I exercise my body and keep fit .
Getting to the pitch , I jogged round the field . I did 10 laps to get my heart running and familiar to some intense minutes of action play . Its usually a 5-aside set gameplay with 10 minutes interval. Today wasn't really a good day on the pitch as my team won once, lost twice and drew once . I hope next week's performance is better than this week's own.
I headed home after finishing playing football to freshen up. I was actually tired but I had a party to attend which I can't afford to miss . I did my possible best to dress up on time so as not to be late for the event .
The ceremony started with a traditional wedding ceremony between the groom and bride's family. The tradition suggests the groom come begging for the bride by prostrating with his friend, gifts and money . Myself and other friends of the groom as well as the groom of himself prostrated 3 times to beg for the bride's family for their daughter's hand in marriage.
Immediately after the traditional wedding was the church wedding where the pastor of church proclaimed blessings on the newly wedded . The church service was short which actually made sense. After the church service, it was time to take pictures with the bride and groom.
The reception party followed with much glamour to behold . The music band were at their uttermost best stirring the dance styles out of guests and well wishers . There was much food to eat and drinks to go round. It was indeed a swell time trust me . Ooh! How can I forget the couple dance. It was so romantic and indeed heartwarming. I wish the newly wedded a successful home and marriage.
