What is actually wrong with the boys ? Is it a case of tired legs or minds ?? do they lack the right emotions to keep a winning momentum??? .
These above questions and more are the lingering thoughts on my mind after the painful draw Arsenal played at the Emirates few hours ago against Southampton. This third successive draw might have dealt a huge blow to our title chances .
Certainly, it all looks like we are conveniently say Arsenal has bottled the league title after dropping 6 points in three successive matches. Honestly, I'm absolutely gutted and livid right now .
Everytime and not just sometimes it is the hope that kills Arsenal fans . At the beginning of the season we were gunning to at all cost make the traditional top 4 spot . Surprisingly, we found ourselves challenging for the league title . Perhaps we should have just sticked with the former thereby avoiding any iota of painful disappointments .
Conceding 2 goals after going 2 goals up in the Liverpool and Westham matches wasn't enough lessons learnt for the boys it seems . The match at the Emirates against Southampton was even more nail biting and got most Arsenal fans sitting on the edge of their seats. We conceded very early , and before one could say Jack Robinson we were 2 goals down already. " Like what is fundamentally wrong " was the question I kept asking myself while watching the match.
Not to point fingers but Partey has been low par in the course of these last two games . He is an experienced football player, he should know what's at stake in the cause of things. He has been conspicuously shaky in the last two matches .Partey reminds me of Anthony Davis of the Lakers; has the physique to dominate but makes silly mistakes and is soft when he needs to be strong. I hope Rodri doesn’t pocket our man on Wednesday .
Also , we can't deny the fact that William Saliba's absence has left an indelible void in the heart of Arsenal's defense . No disrespect to Rob Holding , he does not clearly fill in William Saliba's shoes. If this is how we going to play in the champions league next season we better forfeit that tournament or sign better defenders in the summer otherwise we can't field Holding against Benzema or Bayern.
I agree with the fact we’ve overachieved considering out goals at the start of the season. However I don’t think any arsenal fan can be happy with this. The position we were in was brilliant and we’ve thrown it away.
If Liverpool had defeated Arsenal, Man City will be sitting pretty on top of the league by now. Arsenal are letting it go by themselves.
It's either the players' mentality can't take it at this point or Arteta's tactics have been completely read by other teams. Every season Arsenal has got a moment of madness by dropping points, the period at which it falls this season is the most annoying by all standards.

It's more or less looking like the end of the road for Arsenal title hopes . This is football anyway ,anything can happen but Arsenal let it slip off their hands . It will honestly take a miracle to see a turnaround in the title race considering Manchester City's blistering form . What a season! Sigh
