Oh, indeed, Phyllostschys once they're established can cover very large areas quite quickly, forming huge groves. Even though the rhizomes can spead 30 feet in a growing season, they only produce shoots (which are edible raw, by the way) once per year in the spring, and they can't survive for long if the new shoots are harvested or cut. Just mowing around them can be very effective. Yes, all the Phyllostschys are evergreen, though some species tolerate cold better than other. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
