May you and your fellow Venezuelans fair well through these challenging times otitolo@otitolo! As I type this comment I'm sitting in an open-air bamboo yurt, constructed about two and a half years ago, up on top of the lava from the 2018 eruption. The lava covered a portion of an acre on the Southern side of the jungle intentional community where I live, as well as cutting off the through road, so now the road ends at us with a fifteen-foot wall of lava. Many people lost their homes in this last eruption. Thankfully this community was spaired. We live in one of the most volcanically active and unpredictable places on earth, so adapting to these sort of events is a necessity.

Photo taken just now, overlooking the lava.
