I live barefooted and naked, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i. These posts began last Summer as a way for me to express and work through my deep pain of the end of a very significant relationship, Kai. As they've progressed, and as I moved back to the jungle at GaiaYoga Gardens, and took up my life here once again, they transformed into the Daily Off-Grid Jungle Journal Entry posts that they are now. From the time until they began until now, my Hive experience has transformed remarkably. I've mentioned that all the love and devotion that I had for Kai was transfered to Hive, and in many ways that true. I realize now that I used the pain and grief of my breakup, and of a few other quite heart-breaking experiences since I returned to GaiaYoga, as very effective fuel and impetus to build, grow, and save on Hive, and to push myself to achieve ever more.
Given how much I've accomplished on the Blockchain in the last year, and how much I've grown my account, I can say that this has worked for me very well. To be able to do this I've given Hive the vast majority of my time, energy, focus, and efforts, and for quite a while now. Hive has been a constructive and positive focus for me, and focus I have. I've given my all to Hive, every day. I do this partly because of my deep love, passion, and belief in this glorious Blockchain, and partly as a way to deal with my own sadness, grief, and depression around a lack of any truly fulfilling human connections or relationships. I would just refocus my mind, over and over again, on Hive and what I'm creating here.
While doing this has definitely served me well, my inner compass has been telling me that I need a course correction for a while now. Not away from Hive, but more making Hive a beautiful part of a balanced, integral, and whole life. When I'm able to do that, then I'll have far more beauty and joy to share with my beloved Hive community once again, which will also be very good for my growth here, of course.
I've used this time, when I've been able to devote so much time to Hive, to build, grow, and save, while it's still possible, knowing fair well that I truly do need to heal my broken heart, reintegrate the rest of my life and human experience, and to bring my life back into a meaningful, fulfilling, and fun balance. At some point soon such focused effort on Hive won't be as necessary, because my account will begin growing quite well on its own, exactly because of what I've built and created up to this point.
The day after tomorrow I'll be doing my giant December 1st #HPUD powerup to dolphin level, which is a huge step, and the culmination of much work. It's also the beginning of a new chapter in my life on Hive; a whole new playing field! This has been a long time coming, and I'm super excited. I feel, also, that this giant step is a time for me to put focus on myself, my broken heart, and my life, once again, to build and grow it as I have my Hive account. I think that this will benefit everyone that I know, both on the Blockchain and off, not least of which being me.
Yesterday, being the busy jungle Monday that it was, and with quite a bit less sleep than I would have liked, had me juggling community meetings, land work, and of course my Hive catch-up and tasks. I finished my essential Hive tasks by around 3PM, leaving the Flow House to take photos for this post, then to focus my energy on some land work.
My first work task yesterday was to get my machete and to collect a wheelbarrow full of mixed edible tree foliage, for the next morning's cow-milking food. This process is usually quite quick, but the cow has been quite picky lately, not wanting to eat the much-easier-and-quicker-to-collect Cecropia leaves. Because of this I've had to spend a lot more time and effort to collect plants that she'll actually eat. As such, something that normally only takes about 15 to 30 minutes to complete has been taking an about an hour.
After collecting cow food, I helped Ano unload his truck after Sunday market, as well as taking a can of gas to the generator in Power Sharing, and dumping a bunch of chopped coconuts under a young coconut tree. With all that done, I got my machete again, and my phone, and I went to clear around, and then photograph various young trees that we've planted over the past year, to meet the requirements of a grant that our intentional community has received.
When land work was done for the day, I took a shower, strained out kefir for my kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao blend, made myself some food, got food for my kitty friend, then I returned to the Flow House to dive into my evening round of Hive catch-up and tasks. There was a community Logistics meeting at 6:30PM that I decided not to attend, as I was very tired from not sleeping well the night before, and having a lot to do on Hive. I had so many notifications to get through that I wasn't able to get fully caught up before I got too sleepy to continue, getting only to within 7 hours of being fully synced. I did a short round of token management just before going to bed around 12:30AM. Very thankfully I did sleep well, waking up just before 7AM, and doing a short round of token management, before jumping back into catching up on my notifications. I got out of bed around 8:30AM to go collect my leftover superfood fire coffee and food for my kitty friend from the Landing fridge, before continuing with catching up on notifications. I was able to get to within 2 hours of being fully caught up before beginning to write this post.
The time is now approaching 1:15PM, so it's a great time to to end this post, so that I can get go my afternoon round of Hive essential tasks, take photos for tomorrow's iteration of this post, then devote myself to some land work in the late afternoon.
