For this week's edition of Wednesday Walk, I would like to share a few photos taken during a walk through the woods as the leaves began to change colors a couple of weeks ago. While most of the leaves have since fallen to the ground, soon to be buried in snow, these shots capture the local tree assemblage right in the middle of the yearly bloom of color. With some trees still sporting bright green foliage, and others adorned with various shades of yellows, oranges, and reds, this is undoubtedly the most beautiful time to walk through the woods in my region of the world.
My personal favorite part of this walk was at the very beginning of the trailhead where the pathway was lined on either side by stands of maple, all covered in bright yellow leaves that captured the incoming sunrays and filtered them into a light golden shade that enveloped the forest floor beneath. Autumn is a beautiful season that unfortunately passes us by far too quickly. I intend to enjoy the rest of it while I still can.
Thank you for walking with me.
