I agree. They are tucked away on an unmarked plot of land now so that the average passerby does not wander in and unknowingly destroy anything, and I believe that there were site restoration plans proposed back in the early 2000s. Apart from that, the only other info I can find is that artifacts and remains were returned to local native tribes as of 2010 (https://beltmag.com/recovering-indigenous-roots-michigan-norton-mounds/)
