RE: Unique Fungal Forms
I'm not hurt - thank you for the reply. I suppose I do not understand the program then; I had been under the impression that all posts must be of your own content, but that does not seem to be the case

@xoxois I appreciate the reblog, but if you are going to share my posts, and those of others on Twitter, the very least that you can do is give the original creators credit in the tweet. It seems like

RE: Mushrooms in Europe
Nice photos @gynco! Consider posting your fungi photos over in the fungilovers or fungifriday communities in the future if you would like to get more eyes on your observations. Great photos - I particularly

RE: Setophaga petechia
Hello @adcreatordesign - these baby birds were yellow warblers (Setophaga petechia). If you follow the inaturalist link in the body of my post, you can see a couple other photos that I took of them. I'm

RE: Camarops petersii
I was very excited about this find at the time. These were all found on a single felled tree so I was able to get a good look at them at all stages of development.

RE: Pleurotus citrinopileatus
Thank you! They bloomed from this tree a couple of times last year, but this was by far the biggest collection that I came across. Thankfully they are edible and tasty too, so I had plenty to share with

RE: Odocoileus virginianus ssp. borealis
I remember almost stepping right on them as I made my way through the woods. Once you spot them on the forest floor, there are hard to lose, but their speckled fur does a good job at blending them into

RE: Clavaria zollingeri
Very beautiful. Thank you for sharing! I love finding these antler/coral-shaped fungi. This purple species is relatively rare where I live, so I wanted to share it here :)

RE: Wednesday Walk - Changing Colors
Unfortunately, not this time, but I have found a few edible species like hen of the woods and black trumpets from this same spot earlier in the year.

RE: Wednesday Walk - Fall Walk Along the Marsh
I got lucky this time around that they were so close to the boardwalk. I'm usually squinting through binoculars to see them as well. Happy Wednesday!

RE: Mushroom Monday - Edible Mushroom Extravaganza
Try looking for them once the honey mushrooms start popping up around you. They parasitize honey mushrooms to create the edible "shrimps." Best of luck!

RE: Mushroom Monday - Lots of an Unknown Mushroom
I can't tell what this one is! Maybe it's some kind of lepiota or amanita if it happened to have a vulva? Sorry, not going to be able to be much help on this one.

Ghost pipes are a really interesting plant. Both them and pinesap do not have any green coloration to them since they do not perform photosynthesis. They are parasites on the underground mycelium of mushroom

RE: The Shelves are Bare
I'm pretty sure that you are correct on your ID for the first mushroom. It is a bit unusual to find it growing so close to the ground, but it does look like a Northern Tooth (Climacodon septentrionalis)
