This species of lichen is common in the Great Lakes region where I live, but most people do not notice them since they are very small. The saucer-like structures that are in these photos are only 2-3

I'm glad that you like the picture! I don't think that any of the copepods are actively laying eggs in any of these images, but the masses of spheres attached to some of their abdomens are eggs.

Same here. They seem to like building their webs at eye-level, so I end up walking face-first into their webs at least once or twice each summer.
