RE: Mushroom Monday - Fungal Finds from a Weekend at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore
Thank you! I'm not sure that any of the mushrooms are particularly good edible varieties (except for maybe the flame chanterelles), but I'm glad you enjoy the pictures either way!

RE: Mushroom Monday - Finding Whatever I Can
Looks to me like the last one may actually be Russell's Bolete (Aureoboletus russellii) rather than Frost's Bolete (Exsudoporus frostii). Both have intricately reticulated stems, but the pale brown cap

RE: Mushroom Monday - Boletes, Boletes, and More Boletes
I started getting interested back college. I took a few biology courses and was confused why their was so little research and information available on fungi compared to animals or plants. From their, I

This was my first time ever coming across one. The webbing on the cap is unlike anything else I've ever found.

RE: Wednesday Walk - Fungal Finds both Deadly and Delicious
The mosquitos were pretty horrendous to be honest. I left with at least one bite for each new species I found haha

RE: Fungi Friday - A Swamp Full of Suilus
The Russulas are notoriously difficult to ID. Some are choice edibles, but others will definitely make you sick. There are dozens if not hundreds of very similar looking red russula mushrooms all over

You're very welcome! I didn't bring a basket with me on this walk, so I didn't end up harvesting any of these to bring home. I'm also not very confident on how to cook most species. I know some require

RE: Wednesday Walk - Mid-week Mushroom Hunt
Nice find! I'm never come across reddening lepiotas. Just had to search them to find out what you were referring to. They look like they bruise blood-red from the images I found.

RE: Crown-tipped Coral Fungus - A Beautiful & Edible Forest Fungi
To be completely fair, the credit for that ID should go to Adam Bryant. I originally thought that it was a Fawn mushroom (Pluteus cervinus), but Adam was able to point out a few distinguishing features

RE: Fungi Friday: Unknown Specimens (ID Bounties)
Thank you! I'll update the post with these as the leading suggestions. Lepiota seems like a reasonable genus for specimen 3 to me given the scales on the cap. I originally looked at Phelbia incarnata as
