I could hear someone playing a flute. I lived in a rural area then, my wife slept soundly while I was awakened by the sound of someone playing a flute. It was early summer and I had planted a garden next to a wooded area. This is how I remember that night.

The tune that he plays is one that is unmistakable. It is a tune that we all know but cannot imitate. I have heard it only once. It was early morning possibly 1 or 2 am, a soft summer night, only a gentle wind. The pipes make such a sound that I could only think that they must be made of silver. The tune dances in your ears, it dances in your mind, it is as if your feet want to join in a sacred dance and your body brightens to magically carve great arcs of expression in the air and on the ground. It's not hypnotic, it invites and charms and brings with it the smells of the damp forest at night and the buzz of insects and the presence of nature folk and the almost unbearable joy of life.
Blessings to all.
