Venezuela was affected by an explosion at an electrical station in the oil city of Maracaibo, affected by power outages.
The incident took place at dawn in the Tarabas substation, located in the Paraíso sector, in the north of Maracaibo.
The cuts in that region last up to 12 hours a day, causing "the loss of food", in serious shortages due to the economic crisis, and collapsing the electronic payments on which the trade depends for the lack of cash.
The minister, who usually attributed the power failures to sabotage of opponents, maintained that "it is working to restore the service".
Although they are not as frequent as in the rest of Venezuela, the blackouts are also affecting Caracas, which since July has suffered three events, one of which has an impact on 90 percent of the city of six million inhabitants.
