There was a story about a prominent evangelist who was said to have had a revelation of heaven when he died for a couple of hours but came back to life after fervent prayers by his close aides. He saw two roads leading to different destinations. One was narrow and had few people walking on it while the other was large with a heavy human traffic. As he proceeded to go on the narrow path he was challenged by someone he presumed to be an angel not to continue on his journey because there was somebody he had unresolved issues with. When the evangelist protested that the matter had been settled between them and that God had earlier shown him his mansion in heaven, the response he got was that though the matter had been settled he still felt some bitterness and resentment each time he saw the other man.
I have read and heard so many stories of people who have had similar encounters and this issue of forgiveness often features prominently. Little wonder then that Jesus taught that we must be willing to forgive our brother for uncountable number of times and from our heart. We must not allow unforgiveness to hinder us from making heaven and also being blessed
