Sparrows harass the crow. We said it before. The crow eats the eggs. But what does the hawk eat? Everything else.
Imagine if the hawk turned on its back in flight and brandished its weaponized, chicken feet. The crow would be a goner. But instead the hawk is content with piercing its machete beak through the back of some furry creature.
Seems cruel to us. But with surgical precision, lips which do not purse penetrate bone and marrow to compromised nerve and dendrite, rendering temporary paralysis to ts prey. Then it eats it alive, while its victim watches itself being eaten, but it cannot feel anything because its nerve endings are gone. Seems cruel to us. But at least nature has an answer for the bully. Harassment.
