“As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.”
― Henry David Thoreau

Have you ever heard the saying, "Fake it until you make it."? If you have, then you may already comprehend the power of thought and belief upon a reality. Its not so much about force or control as it is about choices and decisions. In order to create a helpful belief or thought form, then it may be necessary to rid a self of dis-empowering ones first. To even imagine a certain reality it may be that a previous belief needs to be handled. If one doesn't believe a thing possible then that belief will continue to sabotage any progress to creating, or even imagining, a new and different reality coming into manifest. Though I do not suggest affirmations as a way to handle a creation, there are some breakthroughs that can occur when restating or repeating a preferred experience.
Why I don't suggest affirmations as a tool for regular use is that in most cases, not all, the affirmation is being used to cover up a preexisting belief and this does not work. This has been described as a hand that fails to grasp the new for it is still holding on to the old. In many cases there is a desire for change and the new is stated more as a wish or prayer and not as a firm or otherwise simple statement of fact. Another experience I've had is unknown beliefs, that can even be off topic a bit, that still affect reality creation outcomes. A vengeful god is one example among many.
"The universe wishes to fill an empty space." is a belief that has served me on multiple levels as it leaves the space that I AM up to me to fill with personal choices. If a reality has enough room to grow then the tree can bloom and fruit.

A few interesting beliefs:

Things work out for me.

I am okay.

It's okay to feel that way.

I'd like to read more examples of empowering beliefs.

Thanks
