Jump is an upcoming subscription service that is similar to Netflix but is focused on video games. This platform will specifically focus on indie games and is due to launch this summer. Jump will be released on Windows, Mac, and Linux with more than 60 games on it's debut. A closed beta version is going on and will last until July 24 with a libary of 10 to 20 games to test.
The program is expected to launch with over 60+ games, and every month another 10 will be added, depending on the platform. The developers are also asked to keep their titles on the site for a minimum of 12 months. After that it will be up to the studios whether to continue offering their game through Jump.
The service will charge $9.99 a month to access the list of over 60 games, while promising to have no in-game purchases or microtransactions.
Designed for PC, Jump works through a downloadable app but will stream each title rather than installing them. There will also be the option to log into your account and play through your browser. Also In turn, Jump will offer a series of categories for players, which will allow them to find some new innovation. The service also collaborates with the PlayFab team to support various online functions, such as a cloud, matchmaking or leaderboards.
