From the position of being the fastest economy, India, according to eminent economist Amartya Sen, has taken "a quantum jump in the wrong direction" since 2014.
20 years ago, the performance of the Indian economy was the second best after Sri Lanka. But now, India is the second worst. "Pakistan has managed to shield us from being the worst”, he disclosed.
Sen pointed out that the government has deflected attention from the problems of inequality and Hindu caste practices, including a whole group of people who cleaned sewerage with their hands.
