Human Capital Index (HCI) by the World Bank showed Singapore at the top, followed by South Korea, Japan and Hong Kong. Whereas India ranked at the 115th position, lower than Myanmar and Bangladesh.
The report rank 157 countries on the basis of child mortality, health and education.
The Indian Finance Ministry however rejected the report, saying that the HCI score for India did not reflect the initiatives undertaken for human capital in India.
