Nuclear Technology- A Green Technology with a Huge Future

I have been writing a lot lately about nuclear power, both fusion and fission, and the reason I am so interested is that it is a potentially safe and clean power source to support world population growth. Oil, coal and natural gas currently power our world, and this needs to change. No matter where you stand on the issue of climate change, we must acknowledge that pollution from these sources makes its way into our air, water and lands and that an alternative portfolio of energy production methods is required. Nuclear fission and fusion will provide us with clean energy in the future, and our continued governmental and industrial support is required to make this happen.
As a recap, current nuclear power plants use fission to produce energy, and fusion technology will provide even more energy when the process is refined in the future. Many jobs will be created, and overall pollution of the environment will decrease. Many citizens are open to the idea, and TerraPower has been prospecting for locations and chose a small town in Wyoming to begin potential production of a nuclear-power plant. Uranium producers, power-plant construction engineering firms, investors and the people who inhabit the Earth will benefit.
Nuclear power has support from the people. A recent report from the Breakthrough Institute showed that there is strong demand for nuclear energy, and that is will fit into a portfolio of clean-energy technologies including wind and solar power. Recently, Uranium prices have rocketed above $50 per pound, showing demand for the fuel refined to be used in nuclear reactors. President Biden also floated a proposal to help American producers of Uranium enrichment to the tune of $4.3 billion. This is direct support for the nuclear industry. There is a push to bring back nuclear fuel production in the United States from countries including Canada and Russia which also shows support for developing new nuclear fission plants.
Investment into clean-energy nuclear power plants is essential. The investment capital required will eclipse $1 trillion by 2050, and the first investment would be approximately $200 billion by 2035. This is a large amount of capital, but not out of the realm of possibility. This investment will yield up to 223,000 jobs and a reduction in reliance on fossil fuels and waste-remediation costs. With a huge future for all parties involved, we need to support nuclear power development through education campaigns and by voting for supportive politicians.
