Hey look at this beauty I just got in my mail 📬
I talked about this note in a post a few days ago, tldr it is the biggest denomination bill ever minted from Yugoslavia. 500 billion dinara!
These bills were issued in 1993 in a hyperinflationary period for the country. Despite the number of zeroes, its real value was shit. Essentially, fancy toilet paper issued by the government. The bill lasted 3 months and then Yugoslavia re-denominated the dinar for the fifth time on 1 January 1994, at a ratio of 1 billion to 1.
Ok, enough with the quick history lesson.
Let's see some more pics:
As you can see I got piece in pretty good condition. Other than some small stains here and there it's almost perfect. I paid for it 5 USD in case you wonder.
Funny how today this piece is worth way more in buying power as a fun/novelty item compared to when it was originally released :)
A fine addition for my stack of hyperinflation bills from all over the world:
Ok friends. This is it for today. Hope you enjoyed this fun little piece :) ☺️
