Loving yourself is basic to being good with yourself, that's a truism. If this is not so; how could we be happy with others?
Besides, how can I excite others if my own person doesn't excite me?
I reiterate my very personal opinion.
The dilemma of not being happy with certain aspects of our person and focusing a lot on those dislikes, in general, creates many obstacles for the success or successes that we could reap.
When one loves oneself, it is not very difficult for one to be happy.
