"You want to go for a walk?" I ask my youngest daughter. She answers very enthusiastically, with a yes. I had returned home from work earlier in the day and after doing some jobs around the truck, I chilled outside for a bit whilst listening to some music.

After my well deserved rest, I felt the call to go explore more of the wonderful area that I have moved to. Once again taking my youngest and our two canine companions. So, after putting on my trusty Doc Martin boots, I was ready to go.

This time we headed towards the forest nearby. Time for a new adventure. This time, my youngest got me to take some water and some fruit, because we cut our last adventure short as she got thirsty. I'm usually really good at bringing water with me but it was quite the spontaneous adventure.

The forest was not very big and we
soon found ourselves, out in the open again. Following a small track, along the edge of a cliff face, where I could see some trees above us, which looked beautiful in the evening sunlight.

My daughter, always likes to be in front when we are out hiking or walking and I'm happy to let her lead. When I know it is save that is. But I also trust that she will stop if the way gets to difficult. Although I often find myself having to bend down, just to get through some places. But I don't mind that, it keeps me agile.

I love the red earth around here likevi said in my last outdoor post, it's great for building with and now I know a few different places to source it. But obviously I would only take some, if I was sure it would cause no structural damage to the cliff themselves.

The contrast between the deep read earth and the beautiful green is something I love. And then with the blue sky up above, I took a few minutes to just soak this view right up. My daughter, keep telling me how beautiful it was as well, she was in her element, we both were.

We found quite a few burrows, obviously home to some wild foxes or gannets. It was a lot of fun imagining the many magical creatures that may also reside there. This is one of the joys of going on walks and hike with children, they really help you to get your imagination flowing again.

And then there is the wonder of nature itself. Like this tree up above, thatbis growing out of the side of the cliff. Nature always finds a way, in the end. My daughter wanted to climb up to it, but the ground was too loose and we kept slipping, so we enjoyed it from below.

It makes me so happy, knowing that this is our playground. That me and my girls, do not have to venture very far, to reach this beautiful place. Where it feels really wild and we feel free.
Where our imaginations get to run wild.

We still have to explore down by the river, but that is for another day. A day when I will take all my girls with me and bring a picnic. But for now, I am content. Falling more and more in love with this place. Whilst watching my girls thrive, as they get to explore their new surroundings.
