Yesterday, I woke up feeling pretty tired. These past few weeks, I've been rather busy, so I was definitely due a day at home. I've also been looking after a friend's daughter and I have an extra canine friend to look after as well. Which makes for 9 beings that I was responsible for. So yeah, definitely due a day off. We'll semi off. There's never a day off from parenting.
So I lazed in bed, until I found myself invaded, by my three girls all trying to find a place on my bed. We joke and laugh and then the animals come to say hello. By this stage I give up on the idea of staying in bed and get up. Feeling quite content as I do. My day just kind of flowed after that. And ot turned out to be pretty productive, as well as being relaxed.
Today, I got to sleep in again. I woke as my eldest daughter came into the truck. (She sleeps in her own caravan.) Where she proceeded to make a blueberry and banana smoothie. Which sounded great to me. Luckily my middle daughter asked me if I too wanted one. When I answered yes, she made me one and I actually drank it in bed.
Breakfast in bed, now that is a huge treat for me.
After I had finished, I finally got up. Then I set about tidying up and getting some chores done, so that I could go foraging in the afternoon. I'm so lucky that I live in a place where there is an abundance of fruits growing. Fruit trees that have been left to grow wild, which adds a certain sweetness to the fruit.
Right now, its pomegranate season. I love pomegranates and I know a few spots close by where I can get some. As well as some Rosemary and Thyme to dry. The fig season just finished. Whilst I was out, I visited a friend, who was house sitting near by. That first picture, is from the garden. Which was really beautiful.
She had a kaki tree, which was dripping with fruit so I took some. When I was walking home I managed to get some avocado's that had been blown down, after the heavy winds we have just had. I was delighted to find them. So all in all, it's beens a lovely weekend. On top of that, I'm meeting someone tomorrow about a possible job, which is great. They just messaged me today. So yeah, a really lovely weekend indeed.
