Use a monopoly power that requires participation under the threat of violence to achieve this agenda, then I am opposed with all I can muster.

I was actually arguing about this with a PhD student last week, about whether or not sending humans to Mars is a worthwhile endeavor.

He is convinced we must send humans to Mars. I remain unconvinced. What I mean by that is that I am unconvinced that our government (or any government for that matter) should fund such an endeavor.

Those who wish to fund the effort should, by all means, be free to do so. But neither I nor any other member of society should be coerced into funding such an effort.
